This offseason I’m visiting several countries in Asia. Here I am visiting the Great Wall. I haven’t worn a down jacket since growing up in Minnesota!
It’s amazing to be visiting some of the places I’ve heard about over the years. I was in awe to actually be at the Great Wall. I started out in Japan and during the trip will also be visiting Thailand and Viet Nam. Right now i'm soaking up all of the historic sites, the cultures, and the great people i'm meeting along the way.

My Motherland!
Posted by Addy Willoughby at 3:20 PM (2/17/10)So awesome that you're visiting southeast Asia. My family emigrated from Laos to the United States in 1983 and I have not yet had the good fortune to return. It's a future adventure I anticipate with peaceful eagerness. I am still very much in tuned with the culture; Laos & Thai were my first two languages before learning English. I trust you will find the folks in Thailand are quite lovely. You're in a corner of the world that is abundantly rich in culture, traditions and undisturbed beauty...WOW! This makes me want to take a sabbatical from my daily routine, jump on a plane and go retrace my roots. Enjoy!!!
